The Mourinho To Man U Rumours Are A Little Much And Highly Disrespectful to LVG

Even though Louis Van Gaal has been managing his Manchester United side through a fairly decent run of results in the past few weeks- he has 5 wins, 2 ties and 1 loss in January and February. He did however have to endure a morale-killing home-loss to Southampton in the League and before that in December relatively recent losses to newcomers Bournemouth, Stoke City, Norwich City and VFL Wolfsburg going back to December.

Even so Louis van Gaal still seems to retain the support of Chief Executive Ed Woodward and also the Glazer Family who undoubtedly given all the turmoil of this season and the undoubted terrible luck on the injury front are still behind their manager. There has often been as many as 8 senior players missing from the squad for at least 4-6 weeks and in many cases much longer (read the incredibly unlucky Luke Shaw who was having the best season of his career when he had his leg broken in the Champions League group game in Eindhoven early in the season which instantly caused major adjustments to the squad and leaves him with virtually no chance to get back on the field for season’s end and realise a dream of respresenting his country at the European Championships).

Reports came out acccording to the BBC this week suggesting in response to the hiring of Pep Guardiola that Man United have started discussions with the “Special One” about coming to Old Trafford this summer to take over. It is not a secret that Mourinho is very keen to get into management specifically in the Premier League and for a club which he believes justifies his ambitions and United are perhaps the only club he thinks he can unsettle things enough so that the OT board will look to sign in him response to United’s noisy neighbours bagging Pep. It seems a bit premature and from what we know of the OT board they tend to work in a classy way and I doubt that they would meet with Mourinho when LVG is still so clearly in charge and we think that the OT board would like nothing more than for LVG to qualify for the Champions League (even pushing for the title) and winning the FA Cup and then retaining LVG and not having to go through the managerial drama again.

I guess all will be revealed but I think LvG has more support than certainly the press think he has amongst both the squad and the powers brokers at the club.

What do you make of it will Louis va Gaal stick around and prove many of his doubters wrong or will he just end up being somewhat of a disappoinment and leaving after his 2nd season?
